About Us
Peeling trim, tired rooms, and sunbeaten siding make a home look worn and invite damage. At Bay of Islands House Painters in Kerikeri, we handle the lot as your interior house painter, exterior house painter, and roof painter with careful prep, tight cut lines, and durable coatings that hold up.
Our crews are seasoned and methodical, with surface prep that includes washing, scraping, sanding, small repairs, caulking, and primers matched to wood, stucco, brick, and metal, and we follow lead safe practices in older homes. We avoid the classic mistakes that cause early failure like painting over damp surfaces, skipping primer on bare spots, spraying without back rolling, using interior paint outside, or rushing work when the temperature and dew point are wrong.
You get clear scheduling, a written scope, and daily updates from one point of contact, and we finish when we say we will. We are licensed and insured, we protect floors and landscaping, and we back the work with a written workmanship warranty.
Interior work covers drywall repair, sanding, caulking, priming, and two smooth coats on walls, ceilings, trim, and cabinets with low odour paints so rooms look sharp and you get back to normal fast, while exterior work includes pressure washing, scraping, sanding, spot prime, full caulk, and the right application method with brush, roll, or spray and back roll so the paint film builds right and seals out weather. As your roof painter we clean and treat rust on metal, coat tile or shingles where it makes sense, test adhesion, and use safety harnesses, and we guide you on timing such as repainting exteriors every five to ten years and busy interiors every three to five years or sooner if you see peeling, hairline cracks, water stains, or chalky colour, because skipping prep or painting in the wrong weather leads to early peeling, blistering, mildew, and costly wood or drywall repair.
